Summer Reading 2023: Find Your Voice!
The Summer Reading program at the library starts June 14!
Ages 3-Entering 8th Grade
CHECK BACK FOR UPDATES!
Registration is done in-person only.
We have paired up with the BOSTON BRUINS once again to encourage reading throughout the summer! Children who register for our summer reading program will receive incentives based on their age or the school year they will be entering in the fall:
- Children ages 3-8: These children will receive a registration bag with a pencil, bookmark, and timed-reading log. The child should fill in a circle for every 15 minutes of reading (or listening to reading). Once the child has completed the 50 circles (just over 12 hours total of reading), he or she will return the log and receive a free book, a Bruins certificate, AND a raffle ticket for a fun prize. Prizes include Funko Pops, Dinosaur puzzles, Altitude tickets, and Young Chef cooking set.
- Children ages 9 through entering fifth grade: These children will also receive a registration bag with a pencil, bookmark, and timed-reading log. The child should fill in a circle for every 15 minutes of reading. Once the child has completed the 50 circles (just over 12 hours total of reading), he or she will return the log and receive a Bruins certificate and a raffle ticket for a fun, older-aged prize. Prizes include Kindles, Showcase Cinemas tickets, Monster Mini Golf passes, Treetop Adventure passes, a coding prize pack, Crocs, and Funko Pops
- Children entering 6th grade-8th grade: Children entering or continuing in middle school will receive a different log better suited to their age. Upon completion, the child will receive a raffle ticket for the items listed under "Children ages 9 through entering fifth grade" section above.
Our programs this summer will be themed around expressing yourself and being creative through art, crafts, journaling, and so much more. Join us throughout the summer for fun activities, ANIMALS, STEAM programs, NATURE exploring, STORYTIMES, CRAFTS, TEEN programs, and more!
